Solar boat Museum will be moved to the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM)
The ministry of tourism and antiquities decided to close down the
Cheops boat museum ( Solar boat Museum) located at the site of the Giza pyramids and to suspend all
visits to it temporarily. This decision was taken in order to prepare moving
the vessel from its current location ( Pyramids area) to the restoration section of the GEM
“Grand Egyptian Museum” as it is going to be part of the exhibited items there.
The
decision was announced on August 08th 2020.
