Luxor and Cairo are among the best tourist destinations in Africa and the Middle East
The American travel and leisure magazine “Travel and Leisure” revealed the top 10 tourist destinations in Africa and the Middle East for the year 2023.
Cairo and Luxor came on the list topped by the Moroccan city of Marrakesh, in a poll conducted by the American magazine, in which more than 685,000 people participated, which represents an increase in participation by 25% compared to the previous year.
The city of Marrakesh ranked first in the ranking of the ten most sought-after cities by tourists and is considered the winning destination in the vote.
The South African city of Cape Town came in second place, while the Moroccan city of Fez came in third place.
According to the website specializing in travel and tourism, the 2023 list includes some of the oldest cities in the world, and the North African region dominated the list, especially Morocco and Egypt, as they are considered among the most visited countries on the continent.
